About OM4 fibre
OM4 is the most widely used high grade multimode fibre. It is laser optimised for 10 Gigabit ethernet up to 400m and supports 40 and 100 Gigabit links over shorter distances, making it the usual choice for new data centre and server room installations.
OM4 has the same 50/125 core as OM2 and OM3, so it can be connected to them, although the link then performs to the lower grade. The jacket colour helps identify OM4 in a busy rack, and our range includes both aqua and violet. Need a different connector? See our LC to SC and LC to LC cables.
