Modern hard drives, SSDs and optical drives use thin SATA data cables, with an L shaped connector that only fits one way round. Locking cables have a small latch that stops them working loose, and right angle connectors help where a drive sits close to the side of the case. When replacing a cable, check the length you need inside the case and the connector direction at the drive and the motherboard.
