About OS2 single mode

Single mode fibre has a much smaller core than multimode, so light travels down it in a single path. That keeps the signal clean over very long distances, which is why OS2 is used between buildings, across campuses and by telecoms providers, with links measured in kilometres.

Single mode needs single mode transceivers and cannot be connected to multimode fibre. OS2 leads usually have yellow jackets, and some in our range come in other colours for colour coding.
