Running network cable outdoors
Standard PVC and LSZH patch leads are designed for indoor use. Outdoor cables have a polyethylene (PE) jacket that stands up to sunlight and moisture, so they suit runs along walls, fences and between buildings. Our Cat6a outdoor leads are fully shielded (F/FTP) to protect the signal on long, exposed runs.
Plan the route before ordering, keep the total link within 100m, and allow for drip loops so water runs off before it reaches a connector. Protect the plugs at each end with a weatherproof box or gland where they are exposed.
