Where a 2m lead fits
2m is a handy length for connecting equipment to a nearby wall socket or floor box, or linking a router to a switch on the same desk. Allow for the path around desk legs and cable trays, not just the distance between the two ports. A copper Ethernet link can be up to 100m in total, patch leads included.
