5m CAT5e Crossover Ethernet Cable
A 5m Cat5e crossover cable, wired with the transmit and receive pairs swapped at one end so two devices can talk directly: two computers without a switch, or one switch linked to another.
Most newer network ports detect the cable type automatically (auto MDI-X) and work with a normal patch lead, so a crossover is mainly needed for older equipment and kit that specifically asks for one. 5m reaches across most rooms, for example from a router by the window to a desk on the far side. Grey is the usual colour for general patching and blends into most cabinets.
