5m CAT5e Crossover Patch Cable, Violet

A 5m Cat5e crossover cable, wired with the transmit and receive pairs swapped at one end so two devices can talk directly: two computers without a switch, or one switch linked to another.

Most newer network ports detect the cable type automatically (auto MDI-X) and work with a normal patch lead, so a crossover is mainly needed for older equipment and kit that specifically asks for one. At 5m it covers a typical room: router to a PC across the office, or a switch to a TV on the other side of the lounge. Violet is an uncommon colour, useful for marking out one type of connection such as phones or cameras.

The cable is ETL verified to ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA/EIA 568B.2, with a UL CM rating.
