OS2 Single Mode Fibre Cable 9/125 LC ST 10m
A 10m duplex OS2 fibre patch lead with LC connectors at one end and ST at the other. Duplex means two fibres, one to send and one to receive, so a single lead connects a pair of ports.
OS2 is 9/125 single mode fibre, used where distance matters: between buildings, across a campus and on telecoms links. With suitable single mode transceivers it runs for kilometres rather than hundreds of metres.
LC plugs are small push-and-latch connectors used on SFP and SFP+ transceivers, modern switches and high density patch panels, while ST plugs are round bayonet connectors with a twist lock, common on older multimode equipment and patch panels. A lead like this joins LC equipment to ST equipment without an adapter.
10m runs across a comms room, for example from a core switch to a cabinet on the other side. Avoid bending it tighter than 40mm, as sharp bends weaken the signal and can damage the fibre. The LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) jacket suits offices, data centres and public buildings.
