5m OM4 LC SC Fibre Optic Network Cable 50/125
A 5m duplex OM4 fibre patch lead with LC connectors at one end and SC at the other. Duplex means two fibres, one to send and one to receive, so a single lead connects a pair of ports.
OM4 is a higher grade of laser-optimised 50/125 multimode fibre, carrying 10 Gigabit up to about 400m and 40/100 Gigabit up to about 150m. It gives more headroom than OM3 for data centres and longer runs.
LC plugs are small push-and-latch connectors used on SFP and SFP+ transceivers, modern switches and high density patch panels, while SC plugs are square push-pull connectors found on patch panels, media converters and many older switches. A lead like this joins LC equipment to SC equipment without an adapter.
At 5m it can cross a server room or link cabinets in neighbouring rows. Avoid bending it tighter than 60mm, as sharp bends weaken the signal and can damage the fibre. The LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) jacket suits offices, data centres and public buildings.
