RJ11, RJ12 and RJ10 Plugs

RJ11 or RJ12?

Both plugs are the same size; RJ11 has four contacts and RJ12 has six. Most telephone and broadband cables use RJ11, while some phone systems and alarm panels use RJ12. You will need a crimp tool with a 6P die.
